GRAVELINES - The Gravelines club hosted one of the title favourites for the third round of the D1 competition three-cushion in French. The current numbers one (Laxou) and two (Gravelines) finished off their match at 4-4. Torbjörn Blomdahl and Martin Horn were the winners for Laxou, Frédéric Roelants and Gilles Stopin for the home team Gravelines.

Torbjörn Blomdahl and Martin Horn levelled the score after the Laxou numbers three and four were defeated before the break. The Swede remained undefeated in his third match for Laxou and bested Martin Spoormans 50-39 in 25 innings.

Martin Horn needed only two innings more against the other Gravelines Belgian, Ronny Daniels (50-30 in 27). Both Blomdahl and Horn keep their average over two (out of three) after these excellent matches.

Gilles Stopin his third victory for Gravelines in the match against Eric Kremer-Leclaire, in which he needed 65 innings for 50-37. Frédéric Roelants played a better game versus Pierre Soumagne: 50-41 in 37.

The Laxou average was Laxou 1.156, Gravelines recorded 1.097.

As in Group A, where Albert shows itself a fearsome outsider for the competitors, Gravelines shows up as a big fighter in Group B with four points. Laxou is on top with five points. Kozoom and St. Maur are the last teams with 1 and 0 points.

The second game in this Group B round is between Kozoom and Saint-Maur on Saturday, January 31 from 16.00 in Billard Club Andernos.
