HERTEN - The team of GT Buer, after a convincing start in the bundesliga, lost its two home matches for the league this weekend. On the seventh and eighth match day BCC Witten and BSV Velbert were too strong. Eddy Leppens was the winner for BCC Witten against GT Buer by a decisive win over Stefan Galla in 24 innings. Bottroper BA triumphed in that round against BSV Velbert with an excellent Christian Rudolph, who defeated Eddy Merckx in 26 innings.
GT Buer was looking for revenge on Sunday, but was defeated again: now by BSV Velbert. Only Stefan Galla won for the team: vs Henk Habraken, all the other matches were won by Velbert.
Bottroper BA had a successful weekend: also BCC Witten was defeated on Sunday. Eddy Leppens was the only winner for Witten: he defeated German champion Christian Rudolph in 20 innings. Wiljian van den Heuvel realized the best performance with an 18 innings victory this weekend.
