BRANDENBURG - The Dutch battle between Gertjan Veldhuizen and Guido Kauffeld, in the semi-final free game for juniors, turned out in a fascinating match. The winner showed himself the best in the penalty shots, after a sparkling show in the regular game: 300-300 in one inning. Kauffeld was the in the extension 30-0.

The Belgian Andy de Bondt is the other finalist after he beat the Czech Adam Kozak, who he bested 300 to 19 in six innings. De Bondt struggled for a moment when he was close to the finish, when he missed at 272 points and need three more innings to make 25 to 300.
The Dutch semifinal showed a higher level with two optimal scoring players.

Gertjan Veldhuizen was the European champion, a title he won twice in recent years. The player from Wageningen showed himself a very sporty loser after the 30-0 in the penalty runs. ,,Guido has deserved to win because he did not make any mistake. And he punished my only mistake, the miss in the breakshot for the penalty’s.’’

The final between Guido Kauffeld and Andy de Bondt is this afternoon (Tuesday) at 17.30.
