Korean player Haeng Jik Kim is the record holder titles

SLUISKIL - The Junior World championship three cushion for players under 22 is launched today at 20.00 with the opening ceremony in Sluiskil (Netherlands). Tomorrow, the matches in the qualifications start with four groups of four players. The finals are on Sunday. The billiard center is in Hotel Restaurant Dallinga, the organization is in the hands of the Best foundation, organizer of four World Cups and the World championships for seniors in 2010.

The young Korean HaengJik Kim, who is senior player now, is the record holder at the Junior World championships with four victories. He won the tournament in Los Alcazares, Spain (2007), Hoogeveen, The Netherlands (2010), Guatemala (2011) and San Javier, Spain (2012).

Greek Filippos Kasidokostas and Spaniard Javier Palazón won the tournament three times. The last winner was Juan Jose Garcia from Colombia, in Peloponnesos, where he grabbed the title in the final against Chong Hae Jung.

Haeng Jik Kim was in 2012 winner with the highest average: 1.638. Filippos Kasidokostas is second best with 1.582 in 2002. The tournament was organized in the Netherlands once before: in 2010 in Hoogeveen, where HaengJik Kim defeated Belgian Kenny Miatton in the final. Dutch success at the Worlds came mainly from Glenn Hoffman, who twice finished second behind Javier Palazón in 2008 (Ukkel) and 2009 (Leuven).
