Hard fight for final places in Marseille

The Grand Prix artistic is coming up to the final rounds

MARSEILLE - The eight seeded players in the Euro Grand Prix artistic, which is played in Marseille this weekend, enter the tournament today for the final rounds. They will be added to the eight players who come from the qualifications. The last matches in the preliminary rounds are from 11.00 today.

The Frenchman Bastien Panis tops the field after forty of the sixty figures followed by Xavier Fonellosa and Juan-Carlos Cuadrado. The battle for the final eight places is up and running with many players close to each other.

The quarterfinals will be played on Saturday 15.00. On the last day, Sunday, are the semi-finals at 10.00, followed by the final.

The main prize is 2.500 euros, the runner-up will receive in 1.200, the numbers two and three 600 euro. A total of 27 players started in the tournament, twelve French, five Spanish, three Turkish, three Dutch, three Belgian and one Austrian.

The eight seeded players: European champion Serdar Gümüs (Tur), Jean Reverchon (Fr), Baris Cin (Tr), Walter Bax (Be), Michael Hammen (Fr), Eric Daelman (Be), Erik Vervliet (Be) and Madou Touré (wildcard Fr).
