Hector Cuadrado takes title artistique in France

EVIAN-LES-BAINS - Hector Cuadrado, who's father once was the Spanish champion in artistic billiards, has won the French championship this weekend. He defeated the main favourite Jean Reverchon in the final in five sets: 50/36, 30/43, 58/31, 15/24 and 68/55. Cuadrado played 63.51%, Reverchon 59.06%. The new French champion, licensee of Billard Club Cavaillon, played throughout the tournament 66.44%. Jean Reverchon, fifteen times French champion in this discipline, had a better average 67.80%.

Hector Cuadrado was superior in the semi-final against Kevin Tran with a victory in five sets and 65.21% against 56.34%. In the other semifinal Reverchon beat Michael Hammen in four sets.

Céline Jacques became the women's champion in three cushion with a victory in the final over Julie Dechamps: 25-12 in 49 innings. In the semi-finals Jacques defeated Aida Lehb 25-21 in 38 innings, Julie Dechamps beat Christine Morel in the other semi 25-15 in 33 innings.
