High level in last sixteen CEB Grand Prix Marseille

All the players for the Euro Grand Prix artistic in Marseille

MARSEILLE - The Euro Grand Prix artistic, which is played in Marseille this weekend, has reached the eight finals with sixteen players. The tournament continues this morning (Saturday) with the last matches, later in the afternoon the quarter finals are scheduled. The top favourites have qualified for the main tournament. Serdar Gümüs, the number one on the ranking, has already shown his high level in the first sessions and reached the quarter finals. The level increased in these competitions with the best sixteen of the tournament.

The Turkish master Serdar Gümüs defeated Jean-Luc Miller 3-1 in sets and 72.78 percent. The Dutchman René Dericks surprised the Belgian contender Walter Bax 3-1 (62.75 to 63.73 for the Belgian), Eric Daelman bested Baris Cin 3-2 (69.69 for the Belgian) and Jean Reverchon qualified by beating Bastien Panis 3-0 (62.051).

In the preliminaries, without the seeded players, Hector Cuadrado proved to be the best with 67.777, followed by Eric Daelman with 65.777, Jean-Luc Miller with 64.222, René Dericks with 63.777 and Kevin Tran 61.111.

Hector Cuadrado also led after 40 shots ahead of Eric Daelman, Sergio Sanchez, René Dericks and Jean-Luc Miller.

The group winners were:
Group A: Eric Daelman
Group B: Hector Cuadrado
Group C: René Dericks
Group D: David Keller
Group E: Bastien Panis
Group F: Jean-Luc Miller.

Sergio Sanchez and Kevin Tran were the best runners-up to reach the the main tournament.

The tournament continues today, Saturday at 10:00 am, the last round of the sixteen are at 13.00. This afternoon at 17.00 and 20.00 the quarterfinals will start.
