Hyun-Min Seo werd winnaar van de Memorial voor Kyung-Roul Kim

SEOUL - The open tournament for the Kyung-Roul Kim memorial has been won by Hyun Min Seo. The final was a match between two Koreans: Seo bested Sung-Wook Oh in a match to the best of nine 5-2. The winner took 4.000.000 million Korean Won, approximately 3.000 euros. The final day of the tournament, which started in the preliminaries with 250 participants, was held at the J. Billiard club in Seoul.

The tournament was organized in memory of Kyung-Roul Kim, the famous Korean player who died after a fall from the 20th floor of his parents' appartment on February 22, 2015.

Most of the Korean top players, such as Sung-Won Choi, Jae-Ho Cho, Dong-Koong Kang, HaengJik Kim and Jung-Han Heo were at the start and eliminated in the preliminary stages. For the last eight in the knockout, only Koreans advanced.

Hyun Min Seo first won his match in the semi-final against Hong-Sik Park. Sung-Wook Oh defeated Jung-Ik Lee. In the final, Seo took the win and defeated his opponent 5-2.
Hyun Min Seo, a former billiard club manager, retired two years ago and has chosen for a professional career. He is best known for his third place at the 2014 World Championship in Seoul. There he was on the podium with Sung-Won Choi (the winner), Torbjörn Blomdahl (second) and Jean Paul de Bruijn the bronze winner.
