Italian teams battle for the title in Modica

MODICA - The Italian three cushion teams are starting off for the 17th Italian championship tomorrow (Thursday, February 27th) until to Sunday, 2nd of March. The defending champion is ASD Biglia Modica, which performs for its home crowd in Salla Biliardi ASD la Biglia in Modica, Sicily.

The champion, which took the title twice consecutively in 2012 and 2013, shows up with M. Antoci, F. Cortese, S. Papa, E. and S. Settiniere Vispo.

The preliminary rounds of the championship, organized by the Federazion Italiana Billardo Sportivo, are from Thursday to Saturday. The final phase with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals is on Sunday.

The first two teams in the final ranks are entitled to participate in the European team championship.

The European champion Marco Zanetti plays for the team of Bolzano.
