Dick Jaspers was on his very best in Belgium with 3.125 average

BRUGES/HALLE - The roles were reversed on the sixteenth day of the Belgian three-cushion league. The Belgians (Caudron, Merckx, Forthomme, Leppens) played on an unprecedented level in the Dutch league last weekend. On Monday night the Dutch sparkled in the Belgian league.

Dick Jaspers showed up in the best match against Bart Leijs, 50 in 16 innings (3.125). Jean Paul de Bruijn, who suddenly shows an excellent form for some weeks, defeated his fellow countryman Patrick Vasseur 42-7 in sixteen innings (2.625).

De Goeie Queue won the away match against the Bruges newcomer, which is last in the ranking: 8-0, including the wins of the two Belgians who are the big favourites at the World championship for nation teams in Viersen in sixteen days. Frédéric Caudron and Eddy Merckx played a decent 1.851 and 1.448 in Bruges.

Roland Forthomme was the best Belgian in four matches of six that were played on Monday night. The Zanzibar leader defeated Glenn Hoffman 50-23 in 22 innings and Zanzibar (with Dave Christiani, Kenny Miatton and Pierre Soumagne) won the match 8-0. De Witte Molen (Glenn Hoffman, Francis Forton, Ronny Brants, Ad Brothers) suffers a tough set-back for some weeks and dropped on the ranking.

BC Deurne, without its leader Torbjörn Blomdahl, who's staying in Korea for his sponsor, was tormented by the second team of De Ploeg (6-2). The provisional number two in the ranking saw its former world champions fail with poor scores.

Jack Wijnen played an excellent match and beat Jef Philipoom by a margin

Jef Philipoom lost without any chance against Jack Wijnen (50-21 in 26 innings), Ludo Dielis was trumped by Wim van Dijck 42-19 in 26. Davy van Havere was the third loser for the team against Jerry Hermans. Jean van Erp couldn't save his team for a loss: he won 50-35 (44 innings) against Mathy Monnissen.

Sint Truiden and De Ploeg 1 played 4-4, including a victory by Frédéric Mottet versus Ronny Lindemann: 50-38 in 38.

Tonight, Tuesday, Biljartvrienden plays at home against BC Herentals and Op de Meir against Biljart Express.
