MAGDEBURG - The German three cushion league is led by BC Magdeburg after the double weekend. The team with Dick Jaspers, Dion Nelin and Markus Schönhoff tops the ranking for the first time in its history. Jaspers played the best match this weekend: a victory over Christian Rudolph 40-6 in 13 innings. BC Magdeburg is leading two points ahead of BC Witten, that played one match less than Magdeburg. BC International, with Martin Horn, is the number three.

BC Magdeburg won its home matches against GT Buer (5-3) and Bottroper (6-2). Jaspers played a draw against Stefan Galla (40-40 in 21) and beat Rudolph on Sunday. Dion Nelin won his two matches against Markus Galla (40-18 in 27) and Francis Forton (40-16 in 17). Markus Schönhoff scored the maximum win against Stefan Hetzel and Dave van Geel, Karsten Schubert suffered two defeats.

Bottroper's team was the leader before this weekend, but dropped to sixth place by two losses. The best matches in the double weekend came to the name of Dick Jaspers, Dion Nelin, Frédéric Caudron (wins in 20 and 17) and Martin Horn (16 innings). Caudron bested Cenet 40-26 in 17 and Efler 40-14 in 20.

Glenn Hofman made his debut in Germany with a win over Gerwin Valentijn: 40-30 in 26. Dave Christiani won a match and lost one against Lütfi Cenet by one point. Peter Ceulemans won his both matches against Joachim Back and Kostas Papakonstantinou. Jean Paul de Bruijn took a win against Papakonstantinou, but lost to Joachim Back.
