Eddy Merckx for Clichy took the win against Martin Horn

PARIS - The team of Clichy Montmartre was the unbeaten winner on the second day of the Frenche competition. The four matches against Laxou were all won. The most remarkable match was played in this group in the confronation between Courbevoie and Kozoom (67-2). Daniel Sánchez and Filippos Kasidokostas stayed together in the score for a long time, the Spaniard grabbed the win with only one point (50-49). Dick Jaspers gained the victory against Torbjörn Blomdahl in the match between Clichy and Laxou. The Dutchman won 50-30.
The Kozoom team, debutant in this competition, left the match with Courbevoie with two matchpoints against six for the opponent. Bernard Baudon was the winner on table four against Jean Jacques Boudin (50-42 in 44 innings). The overall victory was for Courbevoie after the wins of Jerome Barbeillon, Eddy Leppens (50-17 in 19 innings against Fréderic Mottet) and Daniel Sánchez against Filippos Kasidokostas (50-49).
The Spaniard said: ,,We both could win at the end of an exciting match. I needed a narrow escape, because I was 48-44 down when I finished with six. Filippos made only one point from the breakshot.’’
The team of Clichy-Montmartre was dominating from the beginning to the end the match against Laxou. The oldies Richard Bitalis and Jean Reverchon started the match with wins against the youngsters Pierre Soumagne and Thierry Amar. The finishing touch came from Dick Jaspers, who beat Blomdahl with 50-30 in 24 innings and Eddy Merckx with a victory against Martin Horn 50-40 in 34 innings.
