ANTWERP - Dick Jaspers was by far the best player in the world in 2010  and was honored for that last night in the Hilton hotel in Antwerp. The Dutchman left the Belgian metropole with two trophies and ten thousand euros richer.

In his match with Dani Sanchez, the reigning world champion, Jaspers grabbed the Super Cup. He also was put into the spotlight with his title Player of the Year 2010.

Jaspers didn't not only win the World Cup in 2010, he was also winner of the World Cup tournament in Suwon, was European champion in Sankt Wendel, for the fourteenth time Dutch champion in three cushion, won the Yamani Cup in Japan, won for the second time the Agipi Masters in Schiltigheim and was champion and cup winner with his team in the Dutch league.

With that impressive serie of wins, Jaspers left his rivals in the battle for the title far behind. The Player of the Year is nominated and selected by the top players and journalists.

Frederic Caudron was second in the rank, Dani Sánchez third. Those three players were put in the spotlights of the Hilton hotel yesterday evening. Kyung-Roul Kim from Korea and Filipos Kasidokostas from Greek were the numbers four and five.
