ROSMALEN - Jean Paul de Bruijn has demonstrated again his outstanding form in one cushion. The Dutch player, who recently just lost the final at the World championship in this discipline against Frédéric Caudron, finished the second match on Saturday with his topteam AEJ/Etikon in the Netherlands league in one inning: 100-0 against Belgian Johan Claessen.

The team showed up for the presentation in its new location De Hazelaar in Rosmalen on Friday and played its first home match on Saturday. Etikon defeated 's Landswelvaren 6-0 and 4-2.

The highlight of the meeting was Jean Paul de Bruijn's match. The multiple Dutch and European champion showed the audience a flawless performance.

A1 Biljarts remained on top of the league in a match against Van Gemert. Ludger Havlik was in the balk line 47/2 both too strong for Demi Pattiruhu (200-37 in 4 innings, run 124) and Sam van Etten: 200-38 in 8).

Raymund Swertz showed up in two great matches in 71/2 with wins in five and three innings over Guido Kauffeld. Wiel van Gemert surprised with one win against Michel van Silfhout in one cushion (100-82 in 7), in the next session Van Silfhout won 100-90 in 17.

Gert Jan Veldhuizen lost his first 47/2 match for Etikon in this round vs Peter de Bree 200-101 in nine innings. In his second appearance, Veldhuizen took his revenge in an exciting match, in which he soon made a run of 150, but at the end his opponent was only two points down: 200-198. Patrick Niessen was too strong for Roij van Raaij in the 71/2 both times in seven innings.

The tenfold champion AEJ/Etikon played itself in the leading group, with two points less than A1 Biljarts/De Veemarkt and one point behind Topteam Berkelland, that won 4-2 and drew 3-3 against BIOS/Blitz Optiek.

Most striking was that the French one cushion specialist Alain Remond had an off-day and lost his both matches against Fabian Blondeel: 100-81 and 100-39 in 10 and nine innings. The veteran Hans Klok, in the 47/2, beat René Tull one time and played a draw in the second match. Marek Faus was important for his team with victories over Peter Volleberg in 71/2.

Dibo-The City is one of the teams in the sub top. The Deventer team won the away match against BV 't Ottertje twice 4-2. Micha Bochum beat René Luijsterburg twice in the 47/2, but Martien van der Spoel and Jos Bongers lost to Dennis Timmers and Dave Christiani.
