LAXOU - The second French three cushion tournament seemed to turn out into a final between Jérémy Bury and Pierre Soumange. Those were the predictions befor the start of the semifinals between Pierre Soumagne and Marc Boigneres on one table and Jérémy Bury and Jean Reverchon on the other.

The reality was very different: Pierre Soumagne impressed in the tournament, including a 2.222 average match, but was defeated by Marc Boingnères from Andernos. The home player faced a 40-25 loss in 28 innings at the end of the match. Jean Reverchon showed up in a fantastic match against Jérémy Bury, the big favorite, whom he bested 40-37 in 20.

The final between Reverchon and Boingnères had a tough start (4-5 in 9 innings), but Reverchon took the victory 20 innings later and was the proud final winner: 40-20.

When he won the Laxou tournament in 2011, Jean Reverchon finished 1.176 average. In this edition the Parisian had a stunning 1.459 at the end.

He successively defeated Xavier Roy 1.538, Thierry Roxo in 1.212, Fréderick Beghin in the quarterfinals 1.379 and the top favorite Jérémy Bury in the semifinals 2.000. Reverchon also made the highest run of the tournament: 11.

Marc Boingnères finished second with 1.071 and victories over Bernard Villiers 1.053, Francis Connesson with 1.212, Fréderick Roelants 1.000 and Pierre Soumagne in the semifinals 1.429.

On stage were further Jérémy Bury (best overall average 1.467) and Pierre Soumagne (1.367). The Laxou player had the best match of the tournament: 40 in 17 innings.
Two remarkable performances: Eric Tromas (8th with 0.855) and Michel Doré (11th with 1.041).

Runs over ten: Jean Reverchon (11), Jérémy Bury, Frédéric Roelants, George Demos and Francis Connesson 10.

The next national tournament is in Saint-Maur in the weekend of 18 January.
