Jef Philipoom is back home in De Ploeg

HALLE-ZOERSEL - The most wonderful team title Jef Philipoom has ever achieved, was three years ago when he won the Belgian team championship with Martin Horn, Jean van Erp and Wesley de Jaeger. He played for De Ploeg 1 in Halle-Zoersel, the opponent tonight (Monday) for Jef's current team BC Deurne.

With Torbjörn Blomdahl, Jef Philipoom, Jean van Erp and Davy van Havere, the Deurne team favorite in Halle, where the new team line-up is Ronny Lindemann, Huub Wilkowski, Dirk Weeremans and Eddy Willems.

, We are aiming for the number two position behind De Goeie Queue'', says Philipoom, who's not in a great form for the moment, but he wins his matches on a decent level. Torbjörn Blomdahl excelled against Eddy Leppens last week, Jean van Erp is not on his best, Davy van Havere started the competition strong.

Jean: ,,We will cheer for Jean tonight, therefor you are a team'', assures Philipoom, who enjoy his return to his former home crowd. ,,I still come there three, four times a week, because I had such a wonderful years there.''

The leader, De Goeie Queue/AEJ is traveling to Turhout tonigh for the match against Biljart Express. Frédéric Caudron meets Frans van Kuijk, Dick Jaspers plays against his fellow townsman Gerwin Valentijn, Eddy Merckx against Martin Spoormans and Jean Paul de Bruijn faces the club owner Guy van Litsenborg.

De Witte Molen and BC Herentals are on position two and three for the time being, because BC Deurne has to catch up its match against De Ploeg 2 on 22th December.

BC Herentals plays the away game against BC Zanzibar, De Witte Molen meets De Ploeg 2 on Tuesday. Two newly promoted teams will meet in this round in Brugge: Royal Brugse and Sint Truidense.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, is the BC Op de Meir the opponent of Biljartvrienden.

In the second Belgian league, the top match between Kon. Kortrijk and Mister 100 Lier is on the program. The Ceulemans team performs with Peter, Raymond, Kurt and Bart. The opponents are Richard Bitalis, Frédéric Beghin, Martin Ravestyn and Gilles Stoppin.
The matches will be broadcast live by Kozoom for Premium pass holders.
