Jérémy Bury beats Soumagne in superb final

NANTES - Jérémy Bury took the win in the first national ranking tournament. He played an exciting final against Pierre Soumagne. Bury, player of Saint-Maur in the French league, defeated his challenger 40-36 in 21 innings. He attacked in the match with a run of ten, followed by eleven.

Pierre Soumagne showed his class and fighting spirit. The coming man in French three cushion was only four points down at the end.
Jérémy Bury won his first national after 11 months, when he was on top in Chartres. In Nantes, he took his 29th victory in a ranking tournament.

He defeated on the way to the finals Thibaut Espada (40-30 in 27), Bernard Baudoin (40-32 in 21), Jean Reverchon in the quarterfinals (40-18 in 28) and his teammate Louis Edelin in the semifinals (40 -32 to 31). Bury's average was the best of the tournament in 1.567.

Pierre Soumagne confirms his good season start, including the World Cup of Porto. He defeated Steve Dorard in 28 innings, Cyril Miossec in 38, Francis Connesson in the quarterfinals in 30 (40-38) and Jérôme Barbeillon in the semifinals in 26 (40-34). His overall average was 1.370.

Jerome Barbeillon (1.040) and Louis Edelin (1.048) completed the podium.

Joel Switala shined with the best match of the tournament against Jacques Bonnet: 35-16 in 16, averaging 2.188. The highest tournament run came from Jean Reverchon with 13.

The next tournament is in Laxou in the weekend of November 15th.
