LUNEL - The come-back of Jérémy Bury, after an injury on his knee which kept him away from the European championship in Ankara, brought him a victory in the national tournament in Lunel. The French number one on the ranking beat Jérôme Barbeillon in the final, 40-29 in 34 innings (averag 1.176/0.853).
Jérémy Bury was looking for the great form ten days before the start of the World championship in Sluiskil. There, in the small village were five World cups have been hold in five years, he begins in a group with Javier Teran and Luis Aveiga, both from Ecuador.
Bury reached to the final in Lunel without great averages, but also without big problems. In the semi final he beat Cyril Mossec 40-21 in 25 innings, in the other semi Jérôme Barbeillon won his match against Francis Connesson 40-28 in 37.
Bernard Baudoinç Cédéric Melnytschenko, Jean Jacques Boidin and Jean Reverchon were eliminated in the quarter finals.
