Jérémy Bury grabbed his fourth French title in the final against Barbeillon.

SCHILTIGHEIM - He appointed the crucial moment of the match himself: Jérémy Bury took a little time, overlooked the situation, played a perfect run of eight and was crowned as the champion. The new French titleholder, who celebrated his 30th birthday last week, defeated Jérôme Barbeillon in the final of the three cushions championship in Schiltigheim this evening. The end of the match was stylish and impressive: Bury went up to the finish with a run of eight, leaving Barbeillon at 41 points.

It is his fourth French title, after previous victories in 2003, 2006 and 2008. What is at least so important than the gold medal: Bury earns with the championship thirty points for the world ranking. He passes Martin Horn and Sung Won Choi and jumpst to eighth place.

The most coveted championship in the multi-disciplines was a battle between two very talented players, who held themselves in balance for a long time. Barbeillon had a better start, thanks to an early run of nine, Bury fought back every time, with runs of seven in the fifteenth and six in the seventeenth inning.

In the eighteenth inning Bury was eight points ahead to 36-28, Barbeillon closed the gap to three points (38-41), but at a score of 40-42 Bury made an end to the match with a wonderful run of eight. He earned the title, the gold medal and the Marseillaise more than anyone in the championship.
