ANDERNOS - Jérémy Bury has achieved his third victory out of five national ranking tournaments in France. The number one of his country missed by his performance in this tournament the final of the Spanish team championships with his club Ateneo. With 1.869 general average Bury recorded his second best performance after the 2.083 in Saint-Maur in October 2012. In the final match, Bury was too strong for Cédric Melnytschenko 40-19 in twenty innings after a halftime score 25-9 in 10.

The semi-final against Jean-Christophe Roux was even more impressive. Bury started as a rocket against his teammate with runs of seven and thirteen in the first two innings. The French record was even in sight when Bury had 25 points on the scoreboard in four innings, but eventually Bury won 40-17 in 12 innings (3.333 average). In the quarterfinals, Michaël Devogelaere was beaten 40-32 in 22 innings.

Cédric Melnytschenko also showed his current form in an excellent tournament and defeated among others Jérôme Barbeillon: 40-15 after a halftime score of 33-11 in fifteen innings.

In the qualification rounds, Bury finished 1.500 on average by victories over Eric Tromas and Thierry Roxo in 26 and 27 innings.

Today, Monday, the only French representative leaves for Vietnam to participate in the third World Cup of the year in Ho Chi Minh. The expectations are high after his second place in the World Cup in Luxor last month.

Cédric Melnytschenko continues to make progress and seems not far away from a tournament victory. With one defeat against Louis Edelin in the qualifications, he reached the knockout, and then defeated in the quarterfinals Bernard Baudoin with 1.176 and in the semifinals Barbeillon with 2.105.

The podium was completed by Jean-Christophe Roux (average 1.356) and Jérôme Barbeillon (1.292), followed by Mikaël Devogelaere (0.961) and three Andernos players: Bernard Baudoin (1.175), Francis Connesson (1.052) and Marc Boingnères (0.902).

Jean Reverchon disappointed: the sixth man of the French ranking failed to qualify for the Masters.

The order in the ranking of the last sixteen players for Saint-Maur:

Bury - Barbeillon - Roux - Melnytschenko - Demos - Beghin - Connesson - Boingnères - Doré - Soumagne - Baudoin - Edelin - Roelants - Tachoire - Devogelaere - Tromas.

The semi-finalists in Andernos: Jérôme Barbeillon, Cédric Melnytschenko, Jean-Christoph Roux and Jérémy Bury
