Jérémy Bury tops final ranking after victory in Franconville

Jérémy Bury, winner in Franconville, final ranking leader in France

FRANCONVILLE - The fifth and final national ranking tournament in France was won by Jérémy Bury. The French number one therefore finished as the best ranked player in France. The top sixteen is qualified for for the French final. In Franconville, Jérémy Bury took the final against Jean Reverchon 40-24 in 24 innings.

The world's number six ranked player dominated the tournament from the start. He left his five opponents far behind and allowed them only between 17 and 24 points. Jose de Queiros and Olivier Bauchet were defeated in the preliminaries, Pierre Soumagne in the quarterfinal, in the best match of the tournament 40-20 in 14 (2.857). In the semi-final Bury bested Frédéric Roelants 40-18 in 25. Bury's overall average in four tournaments was 1.769.

Jean Reverchon finished sixth on the ranking and for the final in Ronchin thanks to his last performance. He played 1.202 overall. Reverchon recorded four consecutive successes in 40, 34, 23 and 32 innings against Eric Tromas, Jérome Riotto, Marc Boingnères, and in the semi-final against Jérôme Barbeillon (40-38).

Jérôme Barbeillon (1.307) and Frédéric Roelants (0.985) complete the podium.
