Jérémy Bury won the tournament in Chartres and is the new leader in France

CHARTRES - Jérémy Bury has won the second French Grand Prix in Chartres and is the new leader in the ranking. In the final he defeated his Agipi teammate Jean-Christophe Roux 40-36 in 32 innings. It was the only match with some real opposition for Bury in this tournament.

In all the other matches, the current number three in the world finished more than half of the points ahead of his opponents.

Bury's matches in a row:
x Jean-Paul Six, 40-20 in 26 innings
x Vincent Lelièvre: 40-16 in 22 innings
x Jean-Jacques Boidin in the quarterfinals: 40-14 in 19 innings
x Cédric Melnytschenko in the semifinals: 40-19 in 21 innings.

With his victory, Bury takes the lead on the French ranking with 1.667 average. Pierre Soumagne, who won the first tournament, was eliminated in the group stage in Chartres.

Jean-Christophe Roux (1.306) took second place with an exemplary regularity: victory in 30 innings over Steve Dorard, in 28 innings against Xavier le Roy, in 29 against local player Jean-Marie Formont in the quarterfinals and in 31 innings against Jérôme Barbeillon in the semifinals. Therefore, Roux came up from 12th position on the ranking to 5th place.

Albert player Cédric Melnytschenko was third with 1.053 average, again in top four like he was in the first tournament in Saint Maur.

Jérôme Barbeillon (Andernos, 1.315) played an excellent tournament with wins in 21 and 22 innings against Bernard Villiers (40-16) and Jean Reverchon (40-14). He is now third in the national ranking.

Four players from the top six in France showed up in the semi-finals. One of the notable players was 61-year-old Jean-Marie Formont from Chartres, who was fifth with 1.044 tournament average.

Louis Edelin (0.934) outplayed Pierre Soumagne in the group stages. Soumagne was the winner of the first tournament. Edelin beat him 40-29 in 34 innings and finished seventh in the ranks.

Steve Dorard, another player from Chartres, could be very satisfied with his performance: 1.142 average and victories over Adrian Tachoire and Willy Gérimont.

Finally, a great compliment to the 78-year-old Jacques Squinabol from Saint Maur, who played six games this weekend of which he won four against David Durancet, Patrick Achard , Eric Tromas and Jacky Justice, before he came across Soumagne and Edelin.

For Billiard Club Chartres, which is hosting many tournaments every year, it was the first time that a national tournament three cushion at the highest level was organized.

The next tournament is in Nancy (72 players) from 17 to January 19, 2014, the last is in the weekend of March 30 in Andernos (40 players).
