Jérôme Barbeillon in the spotlights after his win in Laxou

LAXOU - He knew that he had to be at his ver best to win the final game. And that's what he was, Jérôme Barbeillon, when he faced Jérémy Bury in the Laxou tournament hall for the second national ranking event. The European champion nations teams (together with Bury...) defeated his teammate 40-28 in 21 innings.

It was the revenge for the previous final in Saint Maur, with the same names at the billiard table, but in that first event of the season with a 40-17 victory in 23 innings for Bury.

The French number one, who recorded a 40 points match in 9 innings in that tournament, could not stop the attackes of his opponent, however he had a promising start (14-8 in three with a run of 10), but then it was Barbeillon who dominated the match.

With that victory Barbeillon overwhelmed the master, who usually is the outstanding master in the French tournaments.

Jérémy Bury had a great traject again on his way to the final in Laxou, where he beat Boudin in the quarter finals 40-6 in 15 innings (2.667). Then he needed an amazing endrush to win his semi final against Pierre Soumagne (strong performance) with a 40-36 in 28.

Jérôme Barbeillon had a less impressive start of the day: against Xavier le Roy, in the quarterfinals, he won in 35 innings and even 46 innings in the semifinal against Francis Connesson in a tactical battle (40-25).

But the 38-year-old Frenchman, one time champion in his country and also winner of a national ranking tournament in Laxou in 2010, player for Andernos in the French league, showed his best in a thrilling fightback and defeated his famous adversary with riant numbers.
