ANDERNOS-LES-BAINS - Jérôme Barbeillon has won the final of the sixth and last ranking tournament in France today. In the final he defeated Marc Boigneres 40-27 in 24 innings.
The 36-year-old winner shone already in the preliminary rounds of the Agipi Masters, especially in his match against the later winner Sung-Won Choi, in which he lost only 50-45 and Barbeillon made a run of nineteen.
The last French tournament, which was played in Andernos-les-Bains, ended with a surprising final. Jérémy Bury started as the great favorite, but the undisputed number one of his country was defeated in the semis by a strong playing Marc Boigneres (40-29 in 30 innings).
Jérôme Barbeillon defeated Francis Connesson in the semifinals 40-16 in 29 innings. In that match Barbeillon made a run of eleven.
In the quarter finals Pierre Soumagne was eliminated by Connesson, Cédric Melnytschenko by Barbeillon, who played an average of 2.105 in that match, Jean-Jacques Boudin by Boigneres and Jean Reverchon by Bury.
