SCHILTIGHEIM - The junior world champion of this year and the champion of last year together with two young French players give the take-off for the second qualification round in the Agipi Masters. The most remarkable match is the confrontation between Haeng Jik Kim and Javier Palazon, two players who made a lot of progression in three cushion last years.

Javier Palazon is the world champion of last year, Haeng Jik Kim grabbed the title two months ago in the Netherlands. The eighteen year young Korean was already known as a great talent. He won for example an international youth tournament in Sluiskil and competed with the best juniors in the world championships.

Javier Palazon, one of the talents who was prepared in the Spanish school of José Maria Quetglas, made his debut this year in the World championship for seniors in Sluiskil. The Spaniard was the revelation of the tournament, that was won by his compatriot Dani Sánchez. Palazon survived the qualification by beating Nikos Polychronopoulos, then walked over the routined players Marco Zanetti and Raimond Burgman and could only been stopped on his way to the final by Eddy Leppens.

The young French players, Cédric Melnytschenko and Eric Tromas, play at the same time (14.00) in the Agipi arena. They belong to a generation which is now showing themselves on international level. Melnytschenko played for the second time in Agipi, Tromas, the French champion of this year, makes his debut.
