Filipos Kasidokostas took the bronze medal by beating Zanetti.

Filipos Kasidokstas had saved some forces for the final day, Marco Zanetti had wasted all his bullets. The battle between the two losers of the semi-finals ended in an easy victory for Kasidokostas tonight: 50-38 in 25 innings.

The Greek took revenge for last year, when he lost in the quarterfinals of the tournament against Zanetti. This time Kasidokostas dominated the match with nice, small runs, showing that he had processed the loss in the semifinals better than his opponent.

The public got in the lead up to the final a glimps of the two stars who have colored the tournament. Zanetti shone especially in his first match against Caudron, in which he towered above his competitor and reached to his best level. But last night he was beaten by his other teammate of Agipi, Jeremy Bury.

Filipos Kasidokostas defeated Dick Jaspers in his first match and showed with his run of 21 one of the highlights of the final weekend. He lost last night in an absolute thriller against Choi, the Korean who finished 50-49 after having missed four matchballs.

In the shadow of the two finalists Jérémy Bury and Sung-Won Choi, Kasidokostas was the best of two loosers tonight, making a strong start (25-7 in 11 innings) and building up a big lead. Then there was a silence in the match for some innings until the twentieth inning, when Kasidokostas decided the match with a run of seven.

Zanetti, apparently not inspired, played far beyond his level and made a highest run of two in 25 innings. The Italian gradually lost his concentration and was once even count down, because he played the wrong ball.
