IZMIR - Turkish billiard player Koray Kirman has opened his own billiard room in the Turkish city of Izmir. He owns the business with two partners, Fevzi Ozbas and Denis Karagol. The billiards arena, not far from Izmir airport, gives room to six billiards, including 6 Zeki match tables and three pool billiards. In the Izmir Bilardo club the first major tournament will be played from 16 to 19 August.
Among the participants are Murat Naci Coklu, Tayfun Tasdemir, Can Capak, Lütfi Cenet, Birol Uymaz, Adnan Yüksel and Ömer Karakurt. A total of 112 players have registered. The winner receives 1200 dollars, there is a total prize money of 4000 dollar.
,,I also invited Semih Sayginer, but he is in the United States at the time of our tournament'', says Kirman. ,,He returns on August 13 and wants to be with us on the final day at the ceremony. Our Turkish president, Ersan, will also be here on the final day.''
