Kyung-Roul Kim defeated Bury and pushed France out of the tournament.

VIERSEN - With his last point, a simple angle shot with a little kiss, Kyung-Roul Kim made an early end to the chances of France to reach the quarterfinals of the World championships in Viersen. Jérémy Bury (win against Adnan Yüksel, losing to Kim) and Jérôme Barbeillon (losses to Coklu and Bok) may return home after one day.

The Koreans keep control over their own fate and will play against Turkey B tomorrow for a place in the next round. The Korean giant Kim played a leading role in his match against Bury. The Frenchman won the first set after a fine chase (from 12-4 behind to 15-12 win), but lost the second, 15-0 and was sentenced simple in the third set.

What Bury demonstrated against Yüksel in the afternoon, he couldn't repeat against Kim tonight. The Frenchman lacked shape and sharpness, especially in the second and the third set. Barbeillon, his teammate, certainly played a weak and disappointing tournament. He got enough chances, but simply failed to finish.

Japan said farewell to the tournament with a marvellous finishing run of Ryuji Umeda. The former world champion fought back against Tonbny Carlsen and won the set after 13-4 behind with a great final run of eleven. The Japanese team had no chance to reach the next round, because Youichirou Mori lost this morning against the Dutchman Jean van Erp as well as tonight against Dion Nelin. The last performance of Ryuji Umeda was amazing, he finished with a flawless run of eleven, treating the audience to a valuable farewell of the Japanese team.
