SEOUL - The highly praised LG U + Cup tournament in Seoul, with a top prize of 60,000 euros, will return to the international calendar. The solution of the conflict between the UMB (world federation) and the Korean federation, during the 3CC Masters in Seoul, paved the way for the continuation of the tournament, which was won by Marco Zanetti in a final with Jin Pyo Hong last year. The organizers expect the tournament to be held in the first week of September. Due to the fight between UMB and KBF, both the LG U + Cup tournament and a World Cup in Korea were removed from the calendar.

The UMB and the KBF came to an agreement in Seoul last Sunday, which was described as follows:

x The Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) and the Korea Billiards Federation (KBF) are agree to cooperate together on the principle of equal and mutual benefit for the future development of our sport.

x KBF agrees to accept and respect the UMB Statutes Rules. Furthermore, KBF will do its part as a member of UMB.

The UMB will apply the Statutes Rules taking in consideration KBF's Financial and Sports interests. UMB agrees that KBF should not be damaged.

x Both UMB and KBF have agreed to do their best to avoid or resolve conflicts in the future.

Representatives of both parties signed an agreement and complete it in accordance with the respective of each organization's procedures. So that both parties are confident that this step will mark an end to an unfortunate arisen conflict and the start of a renewed benefical mutual long term relationship.

The Korean Federation took the first step two days later: the LG U + Cup returns to the calendar in the first week of September. The exact date will soon be confirmed. There is no decision yet about the World Cup in Korea, which was also removed.

Initially the LG U + Cup was scheduled on September 3, but in April the tournament was removed from the calendar by the conflict.
