PELOPONNESE – The junior world championship in Peloponnese has faced a new star from Korea this morning. Myung-Woo Cho, fifteen year of age, started the tournament like a whirlwind, finished his party in 25 minutes (including the break) and won 25-3 in 12 innings, averaging 2.083.
His opponent in the first round was the local hero, Greek Dimitrios Seleventas, a small talent, eleven years of age, who was already trailing 15-0 after ten minutes of playing in 6 innings.
Myung-Woo Cho shows up in Group D with Sergio Aparacio and Manuel Lindao. The Spaniard signed for his first win and left Lindao behind 25-17 in 23 innings.
The other big favorite in the tournament, Omer Karakurt, had a flawless start as well. The Turk starred in his first match against Wesley van Apers (Belgium) with a big margin: 25-12 in 16 innings. Pedro Reyes defeated in that group Yusuke Mori 25-14 in 23.
Adrien Tachoire showed himself the best in Group A, in which he himself grabbed the win against Korean Hae Chang Jung 25-18 in 19. The other matches turned into a marathon (40 innings), won by Colombian Cristian Sanchez against Vincenzo Di Vuolo from Italy: 25-16.
The second Colombian, Jose Garcia, wasn’t in trouble and defeated Omer Karakurt’s younger brother Berkay 25-15 in 19. Joao Ferreira bested Muhamed Elmessery (25-6 in 19).
