Kostas Kokkoris played a magnificent match (4.000 average) his team lost the final

ATHENS - The Greek runner up in this year's championship, Kostas Kokkoris, was already for months on top of the rankings and has now firmly established as one of the top players in his country. The coming man from Athens, who played at the World championship for national teams in Viersen with Nick Polychronopoulos, recorded the best match in his career so far at the Greek team championship this weekend. He defeated Filippos Kasidokostas in the final 40-23 in 10 innings (4.000 average) after a formidable finish with runs of 11, 6 and 4 in the last three innings.

The championship however was won by Krikos BC Corfu, the team in which Filippos Kasidokostas was the leading player, because Kostas Kokkoris, who played for Barrage Club, was the only winner in his team. The winning team consisted of Filippos Kasidokostas, Apostolos Balogiannis Christos Argyros, Fotis Mpithas and Evangelos Maroulis.

Nick Polychronopoulos played one match in 16 innings and defeated among others Kostas Kokkoris 40-34 in 27. Kostas Papakonstantinou played another strong match: 40 in 18 innings.

The championship was played at the Barrage Club in Athens with eight teams: Amfition Club (Thomas Koukis), Barrage Club (Kostas Kokkoris and Nick Trémoulis), Champion Club (Kostas Papakonstantinou), Moulos BC (Evangelos Moulos), Carom Cafe (Dionisis Tsokantas ), BC Thessaloniki (Nick Polychronopoulos),, Trisponto Club (Kostas Giannakopoulos) and the winners of Krikos BC Corfu.
