ATHENS - Filippos Kasidokostas is back on top in his own country. The former world champion, who's forced to play with his left hand due to a physical disturbance, seized the Greek three cushion title in Athens in the final against Kostas Kokkoris, whom he defeated 40-28 in 17 innings. In the semi-finals, Kasidokostas beat his eternal rival Nikos Polychronopoulos 40-30 in 18 innings. Kokkoris won against Kostas Papakostadinou in the shoot-out after 29 innings.

In the two groups of four players before the semi-final, Kasidokostas also shone against Dionyssi Tsokantas 40-17 in 18 and against Apostolos Balogiannis 40-37 in 45. Kasidokostas finished 1.475 overall, Kokkoris 1.133, Polychronopoulos 1.636 and Papakostadinou 1.264 with the best run of 14. The best match was recorded both by Kasidokostas and Polychronopoulos with 2.353 average. With the 30 ranking points, Kasidokostas rises from the 193th to the 65th place on the world ranking. Polychronopoulos maintains its 15th position.

Nicolas Gérassimopoulos won the disciplines in which he played for the third consecutive time. In one cushion he defeated Nikos Chatzipavlis 120-105 in 23 innings. The winners average was 5.85. In balk-line 47/2, the Andernos player defeated Kostas Antonopoulos 250-58 in five (run 182). His average score was 34.40 against 47.52 for Antonopoulos, who also scored the best run: 246.

The same players were in the 71/2 final: Gerassimopoulos won 200-123 in 10 innings. In the free game, Antonopoulos won the final against Chatzipavlis 300-204 in 10. The winner scored 71.47 average. In three cushion for juniors, Dimitris Seleventas won the final against Christos Falaggas 25-13 in 18. The winner recorded 0.820 average.
