Leppens shows great form in Danish league

Eddy Leppens started his performance in the Danish league with the best average

COPENHAGEN - The Belgian top player Eddy Leppens played his first two matches in the Danish premier league, the Søren Søgaard league. He is a new player in the team Varde BK, that qualified for the 2017 Europa Cup finals in Porto. Varde BK became second in the last Danish team championship 3-cushion behind the strong and wellknown BK Grøndal team from Copenhagen.

This Saturday, there was a great match up in the competition, when BK Grøndal and Varde BK met for the first time in the season in Copenhagen. BK Grøndal won the team match 6-2 with a strong team average of 1,773. Varde BK played 1.350. Eddy Leppens won his match against Dion Nelin 50-38 in 23 innings, with 2.173 and a best run of 11. Dion Nelin recorded 1.652 and a run of 9. Jacob Haack Sørensen bested Brian Zola Hansen 50-29 in 26 innings. Brian Knudsen (run 14) and Tonny Carlsen (run 10) both played 1.750 of average.

On Sunday, Eddy Leppens continued with a win over Rene Hendriksen, 50-31 in 21 innings (2.380 average). Varde BK played against the team from CCB Copenhagen and won 6-2.

In the same round of the Danish team championship, BK Grøndal continued their winning streak, 6-2 against Fredericia BK. Dion Nelin was the best man with 1.923 average and a high run of 15.The ranking in the Søren Søgaard league after 6 rounds played:

1 BK Grøndal, 12 points
2 Varde BK, 10 points
3 CCB Copenhagen, 9 points
4 Vejle BK, 6 points.

The individual ranking after 6 played rounds:
1 Eddy Leppens, 2.272

5 Brian Knudsen, 1.440.

Round 7 and 8 of the Danish team championship will be played on Saturday the 25th of November and Sunday the 26th of November.
