The tenth Super Gala on February 5, 2011 in Antwerp, with Daniel Sánchez as world champion and Dick Jaspers as World cup holder, will be the last in this style. Ludo Dielis after ten years stopt with the organization of what he may call his brainchild, which has grown in the passed ten years to a famous and unmatched event in the billiard world.
The former Belgian, European and world champion afther these ten years will be focussing on the organization of the World championship in three cushion in 2013 in Antwerp. ,,The city and county have already pledged full cooperation'', Dielis said this afternoon in Zundert. ,,In that year, Antwerp is the European sports city of the year. So it will be ideal to organize this World championship in that year.''
Dielis: ,,But I also think Belgium again must organize a World championship after so many years. The last one was in 1976 when Nobuaki Kobayashi was the champion, Raymond Ceulemans the second, Yoshihara third and I was fourth.''
The world championship this year was played in Sluiskil, next year Lima (Peru) will get the organization.
Dielis: ,,I have been in touch with Jean Claude Dupont of the world federation to show our interest. We have a great chance that we get the tournament, I think. For 2012 there is not a candidate, so we're right on time.''
