SAINT BREVIN - The teams of Turkey and Austria have qualified already for the semifinals of the European championship for national teams in Saint Brevin. The Austrians defeated Denmark 2-0, the Turkish team was saved by Lütfi Cenet in the match against Spain.

The Turkish champion played a great match and defeated Ruben Legazpi 40-23 in twenty innings. The difference was bigger than in the other match between Dani Sánchez and Tayfun Tasdemir: 40-33 in 25 innings.

Two times before Lütfi Cenet saved his team in previous qualifying round. In the duel with Belgium B (Tasdemir lost against Caudron, Cenet beat De Backer) and the Netherlands (Tasdemir lost against Jaspers, Cenet defeated Burgman), the Turks crept through the eye of the needle.

Austria won both matches in the encounter with Denmark. Andreas Efler finished with one carom on the lead against Thomas Andersen (40-39 in 26). Herbert Szivacz was superior in his duel with Lars Dunch: 40-24 in 20 innings.
