Luis Avila celebrates his last carom in the GP Panamericano.

LIMA - The Mexican Luis Avila has won the Grand Prix Panamericano Miraflores en tu Coracon in Lima. In an exciting finale, in which both players fought for the win until the very last innings, the Mexican defeated Robinson Morales from Colombia 40-37 in 28 innings.

The tournament, which was organized by Raju Productiones (Ramon Rodriguez and July Pinedo), was a huge success with nearly one hundred participants, a great presentation and ceremony, a classic exhibition of Roberto Rojas, the former world billiards artistic and a great interest of spectators for the matches.

The Colombians played a leading role with a large delegation of players. There were eight of them in the last sixteen. Three players reached the semifinals. Luis Avila from Mexico defeated Henry Diaz in the semis and Robinson Morales Lopez in the final.

Luis Avila, Andrés Najaro, Miguel Romero, Julian Torres, Juan Cartagena, Henry Diaz, Roberto Rojas, Heriberto Aristizizobal, Ramon Rodriguez, Robinson Morales, Carloman Ortiz, George Pena, Alexander Salazar and Javier Serreno remained for the eighth-finals after the first sifting of the tournament.

Vila, Morales, Diaz and Salazar came the final four, in which was played for the podium places. Luis Avila showed himself the best for almost full house.
