LIMA - The Bolivarian Games in Lima were closed for the billiard players with an Ecuadorian win by teams and Luis Martinez in the individual ranking. The final between Luis Martinez and Henry Diaz was won by Martinez in 40 innings (1.212 for the winner, 0.939 for Diaz).

The Colombians dominated the final phase of this Juegos Depositivos Bolivarianos and outplayed Luis Aveiga (defeated by Martinez) and Ramón Rodriguez (by Diaz) in the semifinals.

Luis Aveiga defeated in the quarterfinals Juan Carlos Cartagena (Bolivia) with 1.429, Henry Diaz beat Martinez Sobarzo (Chile) with 2.000, Luis Martinez outplayed Merlin Romero (Venezuela) with 1.818 and Ramón Rodriguez beat Gudo Sacco with 1.333 average.

Eventually, Luis Martinez took the gold eventually, Henry Diaz took silver, Ramón Rodriguez was rewarded by bronze and Luis Aveiga finished on the podium as fourth.

In the team competition, the Venezuelans Miguel Romero and Miguel Canton were the favorites. However, the gold was for Ecuador: Luis Martinez beat Miguel Canton 30-21 in 25 innings and Javier Teran defeated Miguel Romero 30-18 in 25.

Colombia took the bronze with Luis Martinez and Henry Diaz.
