Martin Spoormans and Marc Boignères, high fliers for Gravelines and Kozoom

GRAVELINES - The Gravelines team started with a promising victory at Saint Maur in the French league (5-3): this Saturday the team played at home versus the team of Kozoom. The meeting was important for Gravelines to remain on top. Kozoom launched the competition with a loss at Laxou. The mutual match between Gravelines and Kozoom in Group B of the top division ended in a draw 4-4. Gilles Stopin and Martin Spoormans won their matches for Gravelines, Marc Boigneres and Frédéric Mottet for Kozoom.

The first session was between the numbers two and four: Ronnie Daniels against Marc Boingnères and Gilles Stopin against Bernard Baudoin. After a poor start for the Andernos president (more than 20 points down), Baudoin's come-back was not good enough to close the gap. Gilles Stopin won: 50-47 in 59 innings.

Marc Boingnères played an excellent match on the other table, beating Ronnie Daniels 50-34 in 30 innings (1.667). Therefor he and Martin Spoormans were the best player of the day.

The Belgian showed his great form in the match with his country fellowman Peter De Backer, whom he defeated 50-41 in 30 innings. Frédéric Mottet brought the match in balance against Frédéric Roelants by 50-44 in 44.

Laxou leads the group with four points ahead of Gravelines with three points.

The following matches: Gravelines-Laxou (23 January 2015) and Kozoom-Saint-Maur (1 February 2015).
