BLANKENBERGE - The Belgian billiard players, who are specialists in all disciplines, are playing marathons this week. Peter de Backer even is playing in all sessions today in Blankenberge, starting at 11.00 this morning until late in the evening. Twice on the billiard for a match in balk line 71/2, once in a match 47/1 and one match in three cushion against Marc Celen.
The organization, under the inspiring leadership of Freddy Bauwens and Benny van Goethem, even has to convert some matches. Peter de Backer was in the last night party (start at 20.30) not only programmed for the match in 47/1 against Philippe Deraes, but also for the three-cushion match against Marc Celen. Eddy Leppens also is scheduled two times in the session of 14.00, for the 71/2 match against De Backer and the three-cushion game with Johan Loncelle. And the billiard players in this championship don't seem to be afraid for some stuntwork, but playing simultaneously on two tables...?
It will be an interesting day again, starting at 11.00 this morning with the three-cushion game between Eddy Leppens and Johan Loncelle. Frédéric Caudron and Patrick Niessen face each other at the same time in one cushion.
