Marco Zanetti was brilliant in his Saturday night match against Jérémy Bury: 40-8 in 8.

LAUSANNE - In the tournament that he won twice in four years, Marco Zanetti was otherworldly on Saturday night. The Italian was by far the best of four renowned final players in the Lausanne Masters. The victory over Jérémy Bury made a huge impression: 40-8 in 8 innings with runs of 12, 9 and 7. The other four semi-finalists for Sunday are Dick Jaspers, Frédéric Caudron and Dani Sánchez.

Marco Zanetti is back in one of his world class periods at the end of this year: he won the highly-rated LG U tournament in Seoul this year and was on stage at the World championship in Bolivia last week. In that form, he launched himself for the final day in Lausanne as a contender for his third win in the Masters.

Dick Jaspers is one of his competitors after the Dutchman's victory over Torbjörn Blomdahl, whom he quickly left behind with a run of nine (25-6 in the 10th). The Swede only produced some small attacks that didn't bring him closer. Jaspers won 40-33 in 23.

Frédéric Caudron had his best moment against Nikos Polychronopoulos in the 18th inning. Before that, the two players were in balance with scores of 20-15 (11th inning) and 27-25 for the Greek. Then, Caudron's attack was ruthless on that score. The Belgian ran out to 37-30 with a run of 12 and then finished it off: 40-30 in 20.

Dani Sánchez completed the European way to the finals by eliminating the Korean Jae-Ho Cho 40-25 in 26 innings. The Spaniard dominated the match and always led by ten points or more. Therefore, last year's winner is still in the race for a new success.

The first semi-final is at 10.00 on Sunday morning: Caudron-Sánchez.
Then followed by the match between Zanetti and Jaspers.
