BERGISCH GLADBACH - What a bizarre weekend it was for Marco Zanetti in the bundesliga. The Italian was terribly beaten by Dick Jaspers on Saturday, 40-11 in twelve innings. He then made his transfer to Witten, where Zanetti took a sweet revenge. He defeated the Turk Savas Bulut 40-5 in 7 innings (!) with a high run of 21.
The match was the best ever over 40 points in the German league, although Eddy Merckx has the world record over 50 points in 6 innings, five years ago. Zanetti, nevertheless, was the only player in his team who won, leaving Munich with a 6-2 loss against Witten. Dani Sánchez lost to Ronny Lindemann by one carom.
Bergisch Gladbacher, after a 6-2 over Sterkrade, is the leader in the bundesliga after the double weekend. BC Elversberg defeated Krefeld 6-2, Magdeburg beat Ravensburger 7-1.
Dick Jaspers played another great match on Sunday against the Turk Uymaz whom he defeated 40-21 in 14 innings. The Dutchman leads the individual ranking in Germany.
