Martin Horn was the supreme winner of the Grand Prix in Herten.

HERTEN - Martin Horn has become the supreme winner of the last German Grand Prix in Herten. In a one-sided final the undisputed number one in his country defeated the local favorite Mark Galla 25-11 in 21 innings.

The third place was shared by the losers of the semifinals, Dustin Jäschke and Markus Dömer.

The supremacy of Martin Horn was clear: he dominated the tournament and was never threatened. Horn played 1.715, the best general average of all 20 participants and 2.500 as best game average. Markus Dömer shone with the highest run of the tournament: he ran a ten against Marukus Galla in the semis.

The Grand Prix in Herten was the second this year. Eight players qualified for the German championship, which will be held October 25-28 in Bad Wildungen. They are Ronny Lindemann, Dustin Jäschke, Markus Dömer, Sven Daske, Edgar Bettzieche, Bernd Stuhlmann, Ismael Inal and Marcel Decker.

Martin Horn held a little speech after the ceremony and closed the tournament with an emotional climax. He dedicated his victory to Naruhn Werner, the federation coach who passed away a few months ago. ,,We were all a bit of his boys, so I like to assign him this title,'' said Horn.
