ANKARA - The world of billiards, with its many World Cups and major tournaments, has met a new face in the World Cup billiard arena in Ankara. Melis Kantarci, 31, from Ankara, has been providing journalists, news agencies and media with wonderful pictures of the world stars these days. She is new in the world where Ton Smilde, Helga Ackermann, Dirk Acx, Stefan Osnabrug, Jan Rosmulder and Morgan Delame have made thousands of images to promote our billiard sport.
Kozoom likes to introduce the new Turkish photographer and put up some questions.
Kozoom/Frits Bakker: What is your real name, because we see both Melis Kantarci and Melis Ercan?
Melis: Miin name is Melis Kantarci, Ercan is my maiden name
Kozoom: Do you work for the federation or for a news medium?
Melis: I am working as a social media manager for the Turkish billiard federation.
Kozoom: Where were you born, what is your place of residence now?
Melis: I was born in Sinop and I live in Ankara now.
Kozoom: What is your age? Are you married, do you have children? Are you still at school, or do you have a profession in photography?
Melis: I am 31 years old, married and have a son, Can. I am not a photographer, but I take pictures for the federation.
Kozoom: Which sports do you like?
Melis: My favorite sports are volleyball, ping pong and kick-box.
Kozoom: Who is your favorite billiard player?
Melis: Tayfun Taşdemir.
Kozoom: Do you play billiards yourself?
Melis: No, I do not play billiards.
Kozoom: How nice that you provide us with all those beautiful pictures.
Melis: The Turkish federation asked me to mail pictures to Kozoom.
Kozoom: What is your favorite holiday country?
Melis: I like to spend my holidays in my hometown Sinop, Turkey.
Kozoom: Have you got a taste for it after this wonderful World Cup in Ankara?
Melis: Yes, I will definitely visit the next billiard tournaments.
