ANDERNOS/ALBERT - The spotlights in billiards are focussed on the French league in three cushion tomorrow: a match between the teams of Retro Albert and Andernois-les-Bains. Moreover in France there is a national ranking tournament one cushion in Andernos, the third and last for the ranking which counts for selection for the French championship in Ozoir-la-Ferriere.
The French newspaper Courrier Picard announced the coming of Dick Jaspers with a spectacular article this week (,,not Lionel Messi, the king of football, nor Novak Djokovic, the glorious tennis player, but the world champion of three-cushion''): the Dutchman will play in Albert tomorrow (Thursday). But not only Jaspers, the world and European champion, can be admired, also the Greek Filipos Kasidokostas is part of the Andernos team, which is one of the big competitors for the French title.
The encounter between the two teams counts for the fourth round of the highest league, in which the match between Kozoom and Agipi will be played later.
The Andernos team has in the away match Jaspers and Kasidokostas on the positions one and two. The experienced French players Francis Connesson, the player with the most titles in France, and Jérôme Barbeillon play on tables three and four.
The home team will line up with Peter Ceulemans as the leader, his uncle Kurt Ceulemans as second and on three and four Cédric Melnytschenko and Olivier Jonard.
