Roland Forthomme, after two wins tomorrow in the main tournament

As invincible as he was in the Agipi Masters last month, so vulnerable he was today in the World Cup. Michael (the Viking) Nilsson shipwrecked in Hurghada in a storm caused by two Belgians. Roland Forthomme and Wesley de Jaeger both won their matches against the Swede. Forthomme also had beaten his Belgian opponent this morning, so tomorrow he returns to the main tournament.

What happened to Michael Nilsson in the four weeks between Agipi and the World Cup? He started in a new job, he told Agipi during the Masters, got his drivers license, was for three days in top form in France, but a few weeks the rhythm of winning and making high averages has disapeared.

The World Cup was an ultra-short adventure. Wesley Jaeger was boss over the Swede with 11-15, 15-7, 15-10, Roland Forthomme defeated his opponent with the same score, although the Swede in that match had a reasonable average of 1,473.

Jung Han Heo didn't have in group A the walk-over that was expected after the loss of Jean Paul de Bruijn in his match against Dirk Muylaert. The Korean defeated the Dutchman also with 2-1, but then had to fight for the win against the unknown Belgian on a score of 1-1 in sets. The Korean had the beste finish, but averaged below his level: 1.292
