Michael Nilsson, the seven times world champion, will not play in Viersen this year

STOCKHOLM - The Swedish billards federation has announced a six months suspension for its player Michael Nilsson. That means for the Swedish billiards player, who is the seven time world champion for nation teams with Torbjörn Blomdahl, that he is removed from the list of participants for the upcoming World championships in Viersen.

Nilsson was supposed to play there for his country with Blomdahl. He will be replaced by Nalle Olsson.

The suspension has been pronounced, says a spokesman of the federation, because there were problems between the main sponsor of the Swedish championship and Nilsson. Therefore, Nilsson withdrew for the quarterfinals at the championship and he played the same weekend for the Danish league.

Michael Nilsson himself doesn't want to respond to his suspension: ,,I have appealed to the federation against this penalty, but haven't received a reply so far.''

Mats Noren, board member of the Swedish federation, confirmed the suspension and assures: ,,Nalle Olsson will play the World championship in Viersen with Blomdahl.''
