Morangis a way too strong for Colmar

The Morangis team won its last match vs Colmar 8-0

PARIS - The Paris team of CetSI Morangis closed the regular competition with an 8-0 victory in the home match against Colmar. By this victory, the team has definitely advanced for the final rounds with four teams who will compete for the championship in Andernos.
The highlight of the match was the encounter between Eddy Merckx and Frédéric Caudron, the two Belgians who together won the world title for national teams in Viersen. When the match came to an end, Morangis already led 6-0.

Eddy Merckx also won the last match for his team. He led 47-38 when Caudron attacked with seven, but eventually Merckx won 50-48 in 34 innings.

Before the break, Jean Reverchon defeated the young Maxime Panaia, who matched until 32-32, but then was defeated 50-35 in 56. Eddy Leppens and Andreas Efler fought for the win until the last caroms. The Austrian couldn't manage to level the game from the equalizer: he missed after two points: 50-49 45.

Richard Bitalis played the best match: the veteran defeated Jérôme Riotto 50-19 in 32.

The last match in this group between Andernos and Albert is on 9 April.
