Korean talent Myung-Woo Cho played a junior world record in his last match

IZMIR - At the world championship three cushion for juniors, Korean Myung-Woo Cho shone on the early Saturday morning with a world record. The Asian, one of the biggest talents ever in three-cushion, played his 25-point match in the pre-rounds against Turkish Cebeoglu in 5 innings: 3-5-8-7-2, good for 5.000 average. That is the best match ever for juniors under 21. The previous record was also at Cho's name with 25 in six innings, played last year in Spain.

The petulant Korean was the first and best to reach the knock-outs with eight players in this world championship. He gathered the maximum six match points and 2.777 overall. The other group winners are Carlos Anguita (6 points, 1.136), Daehyeon Jang (4 points 1.360) and Julian Vasquez (4 points, 0.955).

The matches for the quarterfinals are (17.00 Turkish time):
Myung-Woo Cho-Santiago Ocampo
Carlos Anguita-Joey de Kok
Daehyeon Jang-Maxime Panaia
Julian Vasquez-Alessio d'Agata

Myung-Woo Cho and Carlos Anguita finished with the maximum points, Korean Jang started with a loss, but recovered well with two victories. Therefore he was the group winner ahead of Alessio d'Agata. Belgian Stef van Hees, who won his first two matches, lost his last in a bad match against Jang 25-4 in 17. That cost him the qualification.

Joey de Kok also had such a flimsy third performance. The Dutchman was not a shadow of the player he was on the first day: he lost to Turkish Güngor, who was still pointless until this match: 25-20 in 38. With that average (0.526), De Kok dropped to second place in his group behind Colombian Julian Vasquez. As a result, the Dutchman now already faces the reigning world champion Anguita in the quarters.

The final rankings in the groups:

Group A:
1 Carlos Anguita 6-1.136-16
