BRANDENBURG – At the halfway point of the European championship, after five days of playing, the Netherlands lead the medal table. They conquered four golden medals. Italy is second with three golds, ahead of Germany with one.
For the Netherlands, Therese Klompenhouwer, Sam van Etten, Monique van Exter and Guido Kauffeld took the gold medal.

The Italian team entered the top three yesterday (Tuesday) thanks to a sevenfold triumph in 5 pins.  The only non-Italian in top eight was the German Thomas Hähne. The new title holder is Michelangelo Aniello. Andrea Quarta, who started as a big favorite, was fifth.
