The McCreery Champion of Champions, starting this Sunday 5th of August until Saturday 11th of August

In front of the Kozoom cameras, one of the most spectacular billiards tournaments in history of three cushion will be kicked off this Sunday. The long-awaited McCreery Champion of Champions event will be launched on Sunday 5th of August with twelve of the world's best players in three cushion. Nine world champions have been invited. They will compete for the astronomical prize money of 600.000 dollars, of which 150.000 dollars for the winner. That is the biggest prize fund ever paid to a winner in a three cushion event after the LG + Cup in Seoul and the 3CC World Masters, also in Seoul, where Eddy Merckx took 40.000 dollar two weeks ago for his victory.

The tournament lasts from Sunday 5 to Saturday 11 August. The twelve players who are invited meet in a competition in which they all face each other in a so-called Round Robin. The four best ranked players after the competition, then meet in two cross finals and a final. The McCreery tournament is a UMB approved event, for which six players have been invited based on their world ranking position: Frédéric Caudron and Eddy Merckx from Belgium, Marco Zanetti from Italy, Haeng Jik Kim from South Korea, Dick Jaspers from the Netherlands and Torbjörn Blomdahl from Sweden. The other six players, include former world champions Dani Sánchez, Sung Won Choi, Semih Sayginer and Raymond Ceulemans were given a wildcard together with the two best players from the United States: Pedro Piedrabuena and Hugo Patino.

The Belgians are best represented with three players: Frédéric Caudron and Eddy Merckx as the world's numbers one and two, 81-year-old legend Raymond Ceulemans as the all time champion. Eddy Merckx is the most successful player of the past months with his two recent victories in the 3CC World Masters in Seoul and the Verhoeven Open in New York. Frédéric Caudron won two World Cups this year.

The McCreery tournament promises to be a sensational fight between the main star players in three cushion. The conditions are superb. The international group of top guns perform at three match tables led by experienced referees. The organization has announced that the matches will be broadcast in an unprecedented way with cameras that register every point from several angles in high resolution slow-motion replays. Don't miss this spectacle.

The Round Robin competition is played to 40 points. The semi-finals and finals to 50 caroms.

The tables for the event are provided by ROK billiards, the cloth is Iwan Simonis and the balls Super Aramith Pro-cup. Kozoom broadcasts all matches free for all registered members.
